Two Paths, One Heritage
For over a century, the game in Fife flourished through two distinct pillars:
-
Fife Golfing Association: A driving force in the formative years of the Scottish amateur game, its influence dates back to the early 1900s, the region’s competitive framework was formally established in 1908 by Mr. Herbert Singer of the Mecca Club, St Andrews.
-
Fife County Ladies Golf Association (FCLGA): The FCLGA was a powerhouse for women’s golf, fostering elite talent and community for over 100 years.
A Unified Future
In late 2024, both associations voted to merge, officially creating Fife Golf Limited. Launched in 2025, this unified body marks a “new era” for the Kingdom, streamlining the sport’s governance while honouring the deep-rooted legacies of the men and women who shaped the Home of Golf.
Fife Golfing Association has over 50 Member Clubs and Societies
From the salt-sprayed dunes of a classic links to the tranquil fairways of a lush parkland or rugged heathland, our member clubs offer more than just a place to play—they offer an escape. Whether you are a beginner picking up a club for the first time or a seasoned player honing your craft, Fife’s courses provide the perfect backdrop to sharpen your game or simply lose yourself in the scenery.
But the true magic happens off the green. Joining one of our clubs means stepping into a vibrant community where shared passions turn into lifelong friendships. It’s a chance to challenge your competitive spirit or leave your worries behind, enjoying a game that is as much about the people you meet as the shots you play.
